Wayway is showcasing his own 3D collection
Some children discover the world early. Others discover how to reshape it.
Wayway, a creative and self-driven 9-year-old from a small town, has always seen things differently. He noticed structures, patterns, and possibilities where others saw finished forms. That sharp perception often came with distance, a quiet separation from the noisy, fast-moving world around him. For a long time, he stayed inside that quiet.
Everything began to change at a local vendor event, where Wayway encountered a 3D-printed dragon. It wasn’t just the shape of the creature that stopped him, it was the idea behind the creation. That something imagined could become real, layer by layer, precise and deliberate. At that moment, Wayway found a new language, one made of creativity and patience.
Wayway experiences the world with extraordinary focus and sensitivity to detail. Those qualities naturally found their way into making.
He began watching Kevin’s livestreams, learning how machines move, how materials behave, and how ideas turn into objects. What started as curiosity soon became a focus. Wayway set himself a goal: to own a 3D printer. He poured the same discipline into his studies, earning straight A’s. His reward was his first machine, a Creality K1C.
The printer wasn’t just put on his desk. It became his classroom. Wayway taught himself how to slice, calibrate, and maintain the printer. When prints failed, he didn’t walk away. He learned to diagnose problems and fix them one by one. Each solution strengthened his confidence. Each success broadened his world.

One step at a time, Wayway decided to take his creations outside. Over two years, he infused his enthusiasm for 3D printing into "Wayward LightBringer Creations", a small brand featuring his own designs, such as popular "vortex connect four" sets and "sunflower turtles," which he sold at local youth markets in Wyoming.
Something else changed, too. Wayway began to open up. He started sharing what he knew — explaining settings, helping beginners troubleshoot, and exchanging ideas with other makers. 3D printing had given him confidence, and confidence gave him a voice. Looking ahead, his curiosity keeps expanding. He dreams of learning engraving, exploring new tools, and one day becoming an inventor who builds things that don’t exist.
3D printing didn’t give Wayway a path. It gave him the freedom to choose one.
When Young Minds Create: The Young Maker Program
Inspired by stories like Wayway’s, Creality launched When Young Minds Create — a maker program designed for young creators who want to turn ideas into real‑world projects.
This program supports kids and teens who are curious about 3D printing and ready to take their first steps into real business and entrepreneurship. From designing and printing to sharing and selling, young makers experience the full journey of creation.
Participants receive access to easy‑to‑use 3D printers, free model resources, and a platform to showcase what they build — not just as hobbies, but as meaningful projects.
Meet Other Brilliant Young Minds
A couple of weeks after the program was initiated, we received over 100 applications from young friends worldwide. Let's hear their voices!
Dahlia: The Compassionate Creator
Dahlia designs and prints fidget toys to provide sensory support for other children, including her friend and brother with autism. Her creations are tools of calm and comfort, demonstrating how technology can nurture empathy.

Lucia: The Goal-Oriented Designer
With a clear dream of visiting Japan and Vietnam, Lucia designs and sells popular Pokémon models, channeling her creativity into a strategic plan to reach her goal of saving $6,000. Every print is a step on her adventure.

Ealan & Taleah: The Brave Partners
Facing a rare skin condition, Ealan builds his confidence alongside his sister, Taleah. Together, they made 3D printing a shared stage for bravery and joy. Side by side, they show that creation is a powerful path to beating heat, fear and doubt.

When Young Minds Create, Real Magic Happens
